Certificate Programmes
Community Learning Centres (CLCs) give you the chance to gain a National Certificate/s, by studying in your own time in a positive and supportive learning environment.
Programmes Available:
How Does it Work?
The CLCs provide a self-paced learning programme leading to a National Certificate in Computing and/or Business Administration. The certificates are designed to be flexible enough to fit around the daily demands of busy people, like you! The teaching materials are designed to help you learn at your own pace and check your progress along the way. Our facilitators are on-hand to offer assistance with your learning at all times. Regular workshops are held to assist you with your learning.
How Long Does it Take?
You can work at your own pace! There are no set ‘class times’, so you can come as often as you like! We have two-hour sessions that you can book into. To ensure there is always a computer available you should book your session in advance.
The length of the course is up to you!

There are no set start dates – enrolments are accepted all year round.
What Will I Gain?
How Will I Be Assessed?
No big exams! No long tests or assignments! Your skills are assessed using methods such as observation, a little theory and some practical. Facilitators will work with you to help you decide when you are ready!

What Can I Study?
We have a range of courses on offer, all of which allow you to work at your own pace and recognise the skills you already have.
Flexible Options Are:
Once you have finished a Certificate you are already on your way to completing one of several other computing certificates that are available, in some cases credits are able to be cross-credited towards other qualifications.

- Certificate in Computing Level 1
- National Certificate in Computing Level 2
- National Certificate in Computing Level 3
- National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing Level 2

- Complete each course as you go attending one or two sessions a week

- Recognition for individual Unit Standards achieved
- A National or Otago Polytechnic Certificate
